ryzen 5 2600x default @ 4.175ghz and jumping 1.38-1.425v?

look at my ryzen master and the base clock speed is 4.175 at 1.4+-V is this suppose to be normal?

also what is the a recommended voltage that my CPU is suppose to run at, i remember looking at a post that says that CPU shouldnt run above 1.35Vs, can someone clarify?

(i dont know why my temperate is so high in the attachment but its just 40+- degrees Celsius)

Hello soulpaladin.

That behavior is typical.  Using the newer precision boost features, your CPU will boost higher depending on need and available cooling headroom.  When lightly threaded workloads are present, the CPU will boost up just a few of the cores to a higher boost clock.  While it may appear that the current on the core is higher, it is still within spec for the entire package (since some of the cores are off).  When all cores are in use the boost clock will drop back down a bit.

If you have it available, try running Timespy.  You will see your CPU post a higher clockspeed during the two GPUs tests than the CPU test.

Hi, thanks for the information buy it seems that the moment I only my pc, thats my range of clock speeds already and my EDC is on 98%, could it be because my wallpaper engine is running?

Are you using the Ryzen balanced power plan in Windows per chance?  Those default settings won't let your CPU go into a lower idle state, the standard Windows "Balanced" plan is what you should use.

Hello soulpaladin,

That certainly can happen with the "Ryzen Balanced" power plan active in Windows 10.  Please make sure you are using the standard "Balanced" power plan in Windows 10.

Hi, I have checked and changed it to the balance plan, but it seems that the issue still persists
