Running Cisco VML-2 on VMware Workstation on AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U

Trying to run Cisco CML-2 Emulator running on VMware workstation on an AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U.  This same software stack runs without any problems on Intel machines.

Please see error messages attached.

It's a pity that there is not AMD customer support for this.

I have run out of options.  I will have to junk the machine and never go near an AMD machine again.

If anyone has come across this issue, and been able to solve it, please let me know.

Thank you

Just enable SVM mode in BIOS. I run it on Ryzen, so it must work.

bluepenguin, I do little lately, but have run lots of VMs including VMware, QEMU, VirtualBox and Hyper-V. Once I got onto Hyper-V, I stayed. I always ran on AMD desktop processors but never a laptop. As wim-bart says, be sure SVM (Secure Virtual Machine) is enabled in your BIOS. I have forgotten to enable SVM (needed to run Ryzen Master) and get errors about virtualization not enabled but not like yours. I have not attempted nested virtualization but will give it a try if you like - let me know. Have you run a single VM successfully? if not, please do. Thanks and enjoy, John.
