When I power up my newly installed Ryzen 7 5800X, nothing happens. No lights, fans, and I can't get to POST. No peripherals are installed, the SDD is not connected, just the front USB ports and front HD Audio and a USB Card Reader. Power supply switch (new) is red on pin 6 and black on pin 8 with the words "PowerSW" facing the edge of the board, just as shown in the setup. Power LED light has + on pin 2 and - on pin 4, HDD LED is + on 1 and - on 3.
Hardware:
MSI B550 Gaming Plus - Brand new
Ryzen 7 5800X - Brand New
Cooling fan - transferred from Ryzen 2 2700 on previous build
Corsair 750w PSU - Brand New
Corsair DDR4 -3000 4x8GB - Transferred from previous build
Power switch - Brand new
If I place my Ryzen 2700 in the slot, everything powers up just fine.
I've checked the specs. The board handles the Ryzen 2d and 3d gen CPUs and DDR4-3000. I also checked in a previous post that the DDR4-3000 will work with the 5800x.
Any troubleshooting steps that I'm missing?
