Re: I have a Ryzen 1800X and I can not install Microsoft Shared Management Objects. Any way around this? TIA Win 10 Pro

So if I use a VM then I need a separate copy of Win 10? I have never used a VM before?

TIA

Each virtual machine needs a separate license for Windows, which is why I own a lot of them. Windows 1 onwards.

OK, but why would I expect the Shared Management Objects to install in a VM when it is still using the same chip?

It should all work, as the SQL express is installed with Visual Studio for C# use etc

I still keep Visual Studio 2005 up as there is still work for that tool occasionally

You should be fine

Hyper-V needs to be added, in the control panel, programs, add or remove windows features and select Hyper-V and install all components
