I have an HP Pavilion Dv6 7010us laptop that I'm trying to bring up to current specs. The final piece of the puzzle is the CPU. I'm running an AMD A8-4500m. Can it be upgraded? There really isn't any useful information I've found out there, and AMD customer support couldn't help me.
Have you checked with HP to see if they have a recommended upgrade for it?
(a new processor would have to fit on the current motherboard/socket and work with the current or upgradable BIOS.)
