Just bought a new R5 2600 but it has dent like marks in the corners of the heat spreader, is this normal? I have no way to test if it works at the moment as I still need to buy RAM for my new build. Thank you

That is decidedly not normal. You should RMA it to the place you bought it from.
Normal or not, these slight curved indentations seem to be common. If you search for photos of Ryzen desktop processors, you can see many that look like this. Therefore, I do not think that this is an indicator of damage, but just a strangely shaped heat-spreader.
