DDR4 RAM Help: MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk + Ryzen 2700X

Hi: I was wondering if I could get some assistance on a newbuild I just completed using: MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk + Ryzen 2700X.
I was hoping to reuse 2 sticks of Ram from my previous (intel based) PC: G Skill F4-2666C15D-16GVR PC4-21300 8Gx2 CL15-15-15-35 1.20v
I started the installation with 1 stick of Ram in A2 and booted into BIOS. The Ram was detected, ran at base speed of 2133. I was able to select AXMP profile for 2666mhz.
Rebooted and into BIOS again. Ram was functioning at 2666.

Now thats the good news. Here comes the problem. I inserted the second stick into B2. Booted up the PC and I hear 3 beeps from the buzzer. After cycling twice, it booted into BIOS.
Three things I noticed here:
1) Ram was now running at 2133 mhz again.
2) Two 8GB ram was detected in A2,B2 (I'm hoping this indicates that my DIMM slots are fine)
3) Here's the part I don't understand. The total Ram capacity in the system shows up at 8gb. This is the part that I cant understand.

I've tried swapping the modules around. Nothing seems to work. I'd like to point out that the ram is not found on both MSI and AMD QVL list.
Any help and advice is much appreciated.

Thank you for everyone who replied and tried to assist me. I took the CPU and motherboard back to the distributor. They ran some tests. Motherboard was fine. My CPU had some bent pins that affected the memory controller. After some skillful work with a pen-knife, the technician was able to help me get everything sorted out.

Since your previous RAM is not listed in either AMD's or the motherboard's QVL list it probably isn't 100% compatible with your Processor and motherboard with 2 RAM Sticks installed.

I would open a G-Skill Support ticket and find out if that RAM is compatible with your Motherboard or not.

NOTE: Went to G-Skill website and under the QVL list for your RAM for MSI X570 2xxxx Processor your motherboard is not listed so it isn't compatible with your MSI motherboard: https://www.gskill.com/qvl/165/184/1536040024/F4-2666C15D-16GVR-Qvl

Thanks for your reply and for taking the trouble to visit G Skill's website on my behalf.

Interestingly, I used the G Skill RAM Configurator, my motherboard doesn't even show up as an option when using a 2700X CPU. Does that mean there isnt any G Skill ram that can be used with this combo?

Thank you again, I was hoping not to have to commit more $ as times are tough and it took me a while to save up for this rig.

If it helps, this is what I'm seeing in the Bios

In the BIOS image it is showing both DIMM slots with the correct RAM Memory amount.

According to MSI 3 beeps indicates bad RAM memory. I would run MEMTEST86 to check your RAM to make sure it isn't defective if it keeps beeping 3 beeps when you power up: https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/bios-beep-codes (you probably have AMI BIOS since you heard 3 BEEPS):

Other Users in the past have shown the same error in Windows where it only shows half the RAM Memory. Some have fixed the issue by doing a Clean install of Windows other by using Windows Configuration to set the amount of RAM.

Here is the MSI Motherboard QVL List for Pinnacle (2xxx Processors) RAM Memory: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MAG-X570-TOMAHAWK-WIFI#support-mem-14

Your RAM should be compatible since both the 8GVR and 16GVR shows up in the G-Skill RAM Calculator but under the Ryzen 3xxx Processor but not under the Ryzen 2xxx Processor and the 8GVR shows up but not the 16GVR in the QVL List for your motherboard under the Pinnacle Processor.

What is weird is that at G-Skill RAM Calculator your RAM does show to be compatible with the Ryzen 3xxx Processors: https://www.gskill.com/qvl/165/184/1536040024/F4-2666C15D-16GVR-Qvl

My opinion your RAM should be compatible but I highly suggest you open a G-Skill Support Ticket to verify that your RAM is compatible with the Pinnacle (2xxx Processors) for your motherboard.

BIOS does seem to indicate that is showing the correct information for both DIMM slots for your RAM.

So it probably is a Windows issue rather than a RAM issue if Windows is showing half the RAM installed. Just Google Windows is showing half the RAM installed to find various suggestions on how to fix that issue.
