CPU does not support required features (VT-x or SVN)

Jump to solution

Hello,

I recently install the Android Studio 2.0 on my Laptop. The installation is finished correctly but when I run it and try to create a virtual device, a message report: "your CPU does not support required features (VT-x or SVN)" and I can't run the virtual android device for testing a code. I take a quick search on web and they say to enable virtualization via BIOS option but I can't see this on my BIOS version. Android Studio is important for my study, so I need some issue to fix this problem. Any answer is appreciate

My laptop configuration are:

     -Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600)

     -System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA

     -System Model: SATELLITE C70D-A

      -BIOS: 1.40

      -Processor: AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon (TM) H D Graphics     (4 CPU s), ~2.0GHz

      -Memory: 8192MB RAM

Despite your notebook CPU supports it:

some manufacturer does not implement virtualization features in their BIOS.

You may contact Toshiba to update the BIOS ... even with IOMMU.

Yeah, AMD does not support VT-x, because VT-x have INTEL only. AMD-V have AMD only. Android Studio does not support x86/x86-64 AMD virtualization on Windows. AMD-V and Intel VT-x works on Linux only. Android Studio have tragically slow emulator. ratah, please try faster Microsoft Android Emulator (with HW acceleration for AMD) implementation to Android Studio: Using the Visual Studio Emulator for Android from Android Studio or Eclipse with ADT | Microsoft App...
