I am looking for a new motherboard that will be compatible with the above CPU, since I am unsure if my current motherboard (Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3V) will be compatible (if it is, please let me know so I don't have to spend extra money, much appreciated!). How do I check what motherboards are compatible, and are there any that are on sale or are especially good for the price at moment? Thank you!

Your current board is an Intel board so no it's not compatible, so you will need a new motherboard and RAM as well. You're also better off going with the much faster Ryzen 3000 series and a complete system update if the rest of your system is from 2013 as well.
