I bought an athlon x4 880k to upgrade from my A6-6400k
I have a gigabyte motherboard ga-f2a55m-hd2 rev 3 with latest bios flashed on however when I installed my new chip pc switched on but nothing happened...
I have had to reinstall my old CPU, I am using a 500w PSU would that be strong enough as I am also using a 64gb ssd, 1TB HDD, 16gb Ram and Nvidia gefore 750ti
Should I buy a stronger PSU
If you're using BIOS FGa or newer, then the 30w difference between the two processors is not going to cause your issue, as I can't see your system peaking at anywhere near even 300w.
Yes it is FGa that I updated too, I went into bios and double checked it has definitely updated to the latest bios...what is the chance of receiving a faulty CPU?
