Hello,
My system config is:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (Pinnacle Ridge, PiR-B2)
Motherboard: ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate
BIOS: P2.00, 12/17/2018 (AMD AGESA to 1.0.0.6.)
Memory: 32768 MBytes @ 1453 MHz, 16-17-17-34
- 16384 MB PC25600 DDR4 SDRAM - Corsair CMK32GX4M2B3200C16
- 16384 MB PC25600 DDR4 SDRAM - Corsair CMK32GX4M2B3200C16
How will upgrading to AMD AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.3 impact my CPU? Will I have improved performance or should I stick to AMD AGESA to 1.0.0.6.?
Will I get ACPI CPPC2?
On Asrock website it says that for AMD AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.3 ABB *ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if Pinnacle, Raven, Summit or Bristol Ridge CPU is being used on your system .... so I'll steer clear of it.
Thank you.
You seem to be able to run at 2900 Mhz, which is more than I can. I also have CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 modules, and I have now noticed on several forums that this memory might be problematic. Does anyone have this memory running nice and stable at 3200 Mhz with a Pinnacle Ridge processor?
I'm running my ram @2933Mhz without issues, after upgrading form PinnaclePI-AM4_1.0.0.4 to PinnaclePI-AM4_1.0.0.6. However I had to manually set the frequency, timings and voltage.
Also this is a dual rank ram, @2933 it will have the performance of a higher frequency single rank ram, maybe even 3200. The best upgrade advice for Ryzen performance is dual rank ram at the highest frequency and lowest timings.
