AMD A6-7480 / A8-7680

hi! i'm planning to get an AMD A6 7480 or A8 7680 for my 2nd PC but I've heard that it has some heating issues. I also noticed that it has a configurable TDP of 45W. my question is if I tone this down to 45W will it affect the performance and will this help in temps? I'm just planning to use the iGPU by the way

hey,

for the same price you could built an AM4 System with A320/A520 and Atlon 3000G = this would be better // AND you can later upgrade to a stronger APU

PC: R7 2700X @PBO + RX 580 4G (1500MHz/2000MHz CL16) + 32G DDR4-3200CL14 + 144hz 1ms FS P + 75hz 1ms FS
Laptop: R5 2500U @30W + RX 560X (1400MHz/1500MHz) + 16G DDR4-2400CL16 + 120Hz 3ms FS

I actually have an Athlon 200ge on my main rig and I love it 'coz it's super efficient and I am actually planning as well on getting a ryzen 3 3200g to that and transfer my athlon 200ge to this 2nd pc but it's expensive from where I live in. my cheapest option would be those two. getting the athlon 200ge bundled with MSI A320M A-PRO is at PHP 5200 from here and by just getting the A6 7480 bundled with Colorful A68hm-k is around PHP 4200 or the MSI A68hm-k e33 v2 is around PHP 4995. and I would rather save the extra money to get a RAM

mh,

then go the A8-7680 because you will need a 4 core CPU - you wont be happy with a 2C A6-7480...
have in mind: to get best performance you need 2x 4GB DDR3-2133CL9 (around 65€ in Germany right now)

about temps: go check ebay for AM3+ Wraith Coolers; or if your brackets allow AM4 Wraith Prism coolers - you can find them for around 10-15€ (here in Germany)

PC: R7 2700X @PBO + RX 580 4G (1500MHz/2000MHz CL16) + 32G DDR4-3200CL14 + 144hz 1ms FS P + 75hz 1ms FS
Laptop: R5 2500U @30W + RX 560X (1400MHz/1500MHz) + 16G DDR4-2400CL16 + 120Hz 3ms FS

ok thank you. I was just planning to get the stock cooler 'coz the case that will be going is a slim type. even the PSU is an small form factor (sfx) but it's just the generic one. that's why I was asking if I can configure it to run at 45W will it helps with temps and will it affect any performance. I don't want to buy any after market cooler as well especially the slim type ones 'coz they're expensive
