2700x sustained high voltage when idle

Hi guys,

My Ryzen 2700x is running at sustained high voltages of ~1.4V-1.5V and ~3.8+ GHZ whilst idle. I am using stock settings (besides XFR preset for my RAM), and Windows Balanced.

Specs:

  • Mobo: ASRock x370 Taichi (6.20)

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x - latest chipset drivers

  • GPU: GTX 1070

  • RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3200CMK32GX4M2L3200C16

  • OS: Win 10

I've tried changing different power settings to no avail - Power Saver is the only one that will downclock the CPU, but it doesn't clock it back up properly. I've also tried enabling and disabling Cool'n'Quiet/C-States but it doesn't change a thing.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

- Donny

Reset you bios and then reenable the XMP profile for the memory.

That should reset your idle state.

Thanks for the replies guys,

fyrel‌ I've tried resetting the bios to default settings multiple times, as well as clearing the CMOS.

billy72‌ I encountered the issue on 5.10 and 5.60. I upgraded the bios to 6.20 as a test but unfortunately nothing changed.

Thanks,

Donny
