I recently built my first PC. The CPU i have is the Ryzen 1500x, but i seem to be having some heating problems. From what I've been able to figure out online is that the average temperature while its idle should be around 35-40 Celsius. But whenever i check the temperature with AMD Ryzen master, my CPU shows up at around 50 Celsius, just browsing. I also haven't overclocked it. I already re-applied some thermal paste, but its still the same. I am using the stock cooler that came with the CPU, but i don't think that should be the problem. What i'm trying to ask is if there's something wrong with the CPU, or if i did something wrong while putting the build together. And if something is wrong with the CPU, what should i do?
The components of my build are
-8 GB corsair Vengeance 2400
-550 watt corsair psu
- MSI RX580 8GB armor
-MSI B350 PC Mate Motherboard
-500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive(For Now)
-Windows 10 64 bit
Any of the "X" processors have a 20c offset in regards to temp monitoring. My Ryzen 7 1800x shows 47c at idle, which is actually 27c. Just remember to subtract 20c.
I thought the 20 degree offset was only for the ryzen 7. I've trying to find some articles about the 1500x, but there arent many. And the attachement i uploaded here only shows amd talking about the ryzen 7, and not the ryzen 5. Since this is my first actual desktop pc, I don't have any experience with how hot a cpu gets. But the offset would actually make sense. Would buying the cooler master 212 give me lower temperatures?
