Hello i have an RTX 3050 6gb gpu with a 3300X and b450 mobo. My graphic card runs Far Cry 4 on Ultra with fps ranging between 60-100 in the game's most intense forest areas. It never drops below 60 fps.
However the game has so annoying fps consistency issues that it feels like the game isn't running smooth.
I confirmed from a famous tech reviewer that the issue is with Dunia engine running poorly on ALL ryzen 3000 processors. I can't enjoy Far Cry series because of these issues.
All my drivers are up to date and it is a fresh windows 10 install.
AMD released Zen 2 in a hurry with its crappy chiplet design and later released Zen 3 to resolve most issues with the architecture of Zen 2 processors. In laptops, they instead went with monolithic design so laptop users have no such issues.
I will never buy AMD from now on even if it leads the charts because i feel cheated. Not all of us are techyoutubers who get to upgrade their CPU every few months.
One game. You could update bios version too. Also lower the graphics or check if you are some what RAM or VRAM limited.
Did you not do your due diligence prior to purchasing. Also ive just did some scouring of the net and there are loads of threads about farcry4 and the numerous game issues. None of which are specific to Zen2 but down to the crappy game itself. Loads of tutorials to ensure the game runs smoothly.
X570 Aorus Elite / Ryzen 9 5900X / AMD RX7900 XTX / 64GB Kingston Fury Black 3600MHZ CL16 / RM1000 X PSU
Yawn
The media criticized Nvidia for dropping old physx 32 bit support which was in fact a optional feature you can turn off on RTX 50 series.
Here in my case, AMD didn't inform the consumer that a game series as popular as the Far Cry series runs like garbage on its flagship 3000 series CPU even with frame rate caps and Vsync ON. For me it is tradition to run FC4 on new hardware.
@Matt_AMD SHAME on you and your company for lying and hiding away the flaws in its products.
Why is it AMD's fault ? Surely its the responsibility of the game developers to ensure their games run smoothly on all platforms ?????
Why did they advertise Ryzen 3000 as "gaming optimized" ?
What is their "Game L3 cache" doing in Far Cry ?
These companies are well aware of the major flaws but still they sell it to consumers.
I'm sorry, that's a ridiculous reason to get angry enough to say you'll never use an AMD processor again. At least from my perspective. It would sure take a lot to make me that upset. It is one game. Are you sure there isn't any other reason?
I've gotten frustrated with all sorts of hardware in my years, usually I'm doing something wrong. And when I'm not, I generally realize that is often the nature of the game. Imperfect people innovating, sometimes leads to imperfect results.
Far Cry 4 is one game, and was already overshadowed by the release of FC5 by the time Ryzen 3000 came out. Now I am no AMD loyalist, this is my first AMD processor since the Phenom X2 era... but you are being unreasonable.
This board is infested with seemingly unserious people.
It seems very "special" to blame the CPU maker for inefficient software game engine.

Watch from the point where FC4 gameplay starts and notice the awful frame time graph on the R5 3600. Intel i5 10400 has no such issues and even ryzen 1000/2000/5000 have no issues to such an extent, then why do people with Ryzen 3000 series have to suffer ?
Simple answer buy a better CPU. Zen 3 are cheap these days
And throw 3300x in the dustbin ? Zen 3 is not as cheap as Zen+ , if I could get a R5 2600, I would happily buy that instead, I will wait for Zen 6 to come so it lowers the price of R5 5600.
If you're going for R5 i'd go for the 5600X, its what i had prior to the R9 5900X. Its a good all round CPU
He'd probably be better off with a 5700X3D.
5700X3D is lots better but then you have to consider the cost difference. In the UK 5600X is around £120 where as the 5700X3D is around £250

Read back what you have posted and comprehend what you are stating.
My 5+ year old low-end gaming hardware plays on Ultra graphics settings between 60-100 FPS. I feel cheated.
Low end or high end, the issue is present on all 3000 series processors, even a 3900X.
The techyoutuber tested FC3 on his 3900X and still got these same issues.
