I am installing a ryzen 3950X in a Asus x570-itx motherboard
Getting the following bios message:
Please enter setup to recover BIOS setting when raid configuration was built Ensure to set SATA configuration to raid mode press F1 to run setup
I have installed a new battery
I have tried resetting the BIOS with jumpers
I have tried setting say to configuration to raid mode
I have tried deleting Windows and formatting hard drive
I have installed a different processor and do not get the same message
I have looked all over the internet for answers for this
I know the boot menu F1 enable trick to bypass The message but I need the computer to reboot after power failure. Bios does not save after power failure.
Any help would be graciously appreciated.
Sometimes, a glitchy or outdated BIOS can refuse to retain settings. Flashing the latest version (or even re-flashing the current one) might stabilize it.
ThanksI tried older bios the newer. still the same.
twing3333, this reply has no meaning. Please list ALL your parts and OS and tell use exactly what is going on. We are working with almost a total lack on information. Having a BIOS for RAID and one for non-RAID makes no sense. John.
Hopefully this gives you more meaning,
Parts list:
Case: NZXT H1V2
CPU: Ryzen 3950X
Motherboard: Asus X570-ITX
RAM:G.Skill Trident Z NEO Series (Intel XMP) DDR4 RAM 64GB
GPU: Asus 3070
Operating system: Windows 11
Motherboard BIOS version: 5021
twing3333, what is your power supply? Exactly where do you get the RAID message? Post a screenshot. John.
Power supply: NZXT 750 w ( comes with case)
Error message before BIOS
twing3333, this is NOT a message about a RAID error. It is an error because BIOS cannot detect a keyboard or mouse meaning you can do nothing to setup BIOS. You probably do not need to setup BIOS if it could detect a mouse and KB. How are your mouse and KB attached? If via BlueTooth, there is no support in BIOS for BlueTooth. Get an old USB mouse and KB and try again. John.
It's the same message with the keyboard and mouse plugged in. I just put the parts back together to get a picture of the error message. Disregard keyboard and mouse and look at the very bottom sentence
twing3333, the very bottom sentence says "Press F1...". Did you do that and if so what happened? This problem really needs to be discussed with your MB vendor. If the BIOS cannot detect a mouse and KB, you are dead in the water. Fix this problem and the others will probably go away. Forget the sentence "When RAID configuration was..." until your BIOS can see the KB and Mouse. John.
F1 takes me to the BIOS
Image with keyboard and mouse attached
not sure why it says 3 keyboards.
Why do you think motherboard problem when it goes away with a different CPU?
twing3333, answer my questions and tell me what you observe not question me. Were you able to install an OS? Why was there no KB and Mouse attached before? I have no idea what the problem is since I can make little sense of your responses. You need to read your MB manual and do what it recommends for a new install of the OS. Tell us what you observe after setting up BIOS. John.
Do you have RAID enabled and configured on your PC?
If so then you need to make sure in BIOS you have selected RAID AHCI instead of SATA AHCI.
If you updated or reset your BIOS it would set your AHCI to Default "SATA" AHCI and not RAID AHCI. So you need to reset the AHCI from SATA to RAID.
If you don't have RAID installed on your PC, but did once in the past, suggest you didn't completely uninstalled the RAID installation from the previous time and BIOS is still seeing your previous RAID configuration.
Drive was formatted. Bios was reset
After doing some more investigating about your reply I see there are two different biosis to load. One bios is just for standard drivers and one BIOS has standard drivers and raid drivers. I will try to install the driver without raid as I don't know which one was installed. This could be the answer.
It seems the BIOS can't detect the RAID drive or there are issues with RAID driver.
Hi, to be clear, you installed another CPU and the problem goes away? Right?

Check the pins for the CPU carefully to see if it has no physical damage whatsoever. If you have the chance to try that CPU on another board, that would be the ultimate troubleshooting and confirm damage to the CPU or not.
However, after a quick search, I found a sort of "guesses" around but most point out to the battery as it should be, make sure you use a fresh brand new one.

There are also other guesses, try it out.

Hope this helps everyone!
Yes I have another AM4 CPU that does not get the same error. I spent all day again installing and uninstalling BIOS and formatting drives. Very strange to me that a CPU can get corrupted with raid.
I do have another motherboard I could try the CPU in, but I'm afraid of getting that one stuck with the same error message.
johnnyenglish, why all the double and triple spacing? It adds nothing. John.
