I have this HP Pavilion Laptop 17-ar0xx AMD A10-9620P RADEON R5 laptop, and it's "Designed for Windows 10". I am trying to get Windows 11 on it for obvious reasons. Everything works fine in Win11 except for the video adapter driver has an exclamation point, and you can not adjust the laptop screen brightness from the control panel. The slider is either not there at all or greyed out.
I'd imagine that the display driver is actually working but possibly not outputting a video signal that the LCD screen can read or understand.
I tried the Windows 10 APU (video) drivers on HP.com and none of them worked. Sometimes it loads but to a black screen, or a screen without brightness control. I read in some posts that I need a driver from like 2015-2016 for this to work. Not sure where to find them. Is anyone here an expert on laptops and AMD APU's designed for Win10 and then going to Win11
Any ideas?
PS: We have several laptops of this exact model and configuration, and they all do the same thing once updated to Win11. So I think we can rule out any sort of machine specific defective hardware.
