Upgraded my GPU from ex6650xt to a new rx7900xt and can not set the correct resolution

Hello everyone!

my setup:

motherboard MSI B550 MPG

Ryzen 7 5700X3D

32GB kingston DDR4 Ram

m.2 nvme 2tb

LG 34’ ulttrawide 2560x1080 monitor

i just updated my gpu yesterday from a 6650xt, everything worked fine, no problems at all.

i bought an XFC RX7900XT. And after installing everything, everything seemed fine, i got the correct resolution (2560x1080) but without the gpu drivers, until I installed AMD adrenaline then it starts failing.

as soon as it was installed, my pc stoped recognizing I have an ultrawide monitor (2560x1080) and it only lets me use 1920x1080 resolution, no matter what, and 60hz. (My monitor can handle 75hs).

windows 11 wouldnt let me change the resolution higher than 1920x1080 no matter what.

So, i deleted all gou drivers using the cleanup utility and DDU in safe mode, reinatalled adrenaline and same problem.

Tried to make a custom resolution in adrenaline but it keeps telling me that my display doesn’t support 2560x1080.

(my display is telling me that its not using the correct resolution, that it recomends me to switch to 2560x1080 so the display does recognize the issue)

Reinatalled windows and nothing

tried older versions of adrenaline, and tried installing drivers only eithou the software and no solution.

I am using the HDMI cable that came with the display, it doesnt have displayport input, only 2 HDMIs.

its like the PC stops recognizing the monitor as soon as I install the amd gpu drivers

as soon as i install the drivers the problem apears again.

Everything worked amazing this morning with my RX 6650XT.

Im so frustrated at this point please someone has an idea of what might be the problem?

thank you so much

Problem solved.

I put a DisplayPort - HDMI adapter.

Display port goes to the GPU and HDMI to the monitor (Its a new LG 34’ ultrawide with 2 HDMI inputs and NO Displayport Input, a little cheap on LG on my opinion, but its what it is).

And that’s all.

i post it in case it is useful to someone in the futurw
