Greetings,
I have a AMD system build on a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite at F35 BIOS level with a Ryzen 7 3700XT CPU, running Windows 10 21H1 (all updates are current), with a Radeon RX 5700XT video card (also Gigabyte), with AMD Adrenaline 21.10.1 drivers conneted to a Samsung Odyssey G9 49" wide-screen display via DP running 5120x1440 at 240Hz (max) with Freesync turned on FW is Samsung's latest FW). When I boot into Windows with HDR off, everything works as expected. When I turn HDR on, again everything works as expected. However, when I boot into Windows with HDR turned on (having left HDR on at Windows restart), when it reaches the login screen, it goes very dark (the old HDR problem has returned). After logging in, I can turn HDR off, and then it appears normal (in SDR mode), but it goes dark again if I turn HDR back on. The only way I can reliably get HDR to work (at least for some amount of time) is to boot up windows WITHOUT HDR turned on (in SDR mode), then turn it on after login. I have a second monitor (an ASUS) that is a 4K monitor which supports HDR at 60Hz, and it has no problems with HDR at all. The only HDR issue is with the Samsung Odyssey G9 running at 5120x1440 at 240Hz.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
