sigh....of coarse the newest driver doesnt detect the newest triple A game released today, even when I put it in the games section manually meaning to AFM2 or chill, or image sharpening or up res or advanced sync or per game performance settings.....as usual...
and the bonus of it crashes like ALL other Unreal 5 games do....so far just back to desktop with send error report, played Helldivers 2 for over 2 hours and also space marines 2 which is fine ( except the stuttering so stable but irritating )....
Just fold up tent AMD jesus.....you cannot avoid fully functional Unreal 5 engine drivers using DX12 you just cant....Nvidia had the driver out BEFORE the game released.....so sick of it.....
Hire some Nvidia driver devs you guys are terrible at it.......
Correction it looked similar, it's the IDtech engine, in case this helps it crashed and crashed again quickly aftee setup.....but now I've played it at least 2 hours straight so I'm like wait let me make sure ( cause NO unreal 5 games last THAT long with this junk ), sure enough it's not unreal 5 which explains why it hasn't crashed again...
So keep trying if it crashes reload immediately a few times...im running 4k with their super ultra settings I'm getting about 55-70 fps on the in game counter no frame generation or anything because the AMD drivers won't recognize its running....its a single player title i can live with that and it's the FIRST game that I know of that forces ray tracing......
It ain't great but it's playable so far, just wanted to update that I was wrong and it eventually got stable, hate to malign the game when it's the drivers!!!!
Life just sucks for AMD owners, second class citizens with peasant level service for us!!!!
also look at the reviews. this game uses a ton of Vram. that is a big issue with this game.
I was gonna mention I'm at 18gb and climbing, I've had to run some errands for Christmas with family but I left it running in an area with several NPC best I can tell ( cause the AMD stuff don't work) is i got 100% GPU utilization and about 75%ish cpu so if it's still running by the time I get back thats a pretty good test for stability and then I guess if we ever get drivers then maybe radeon feature testing later....
Why can't they just oh have someone entry level on team monitoring for at least AA to AAA titles and release a drive "game ready" drivers Day 0....
Sigh....but for getting NO help and having ray tracing forced on it ( there is ONE graphics subsection that forces me to medium doesn't even have a selection higher than that maybe that's ray tracing? I'm not familiar we don't really have those options), hey 55-60fps with stutters here and there, I'll complain about crashes and not recognizing the game as well as the incompatibility with drivers newer that 24.8 , dx12 and unreal 5....but SO FAR I can handle this....little slow glitches here and there, doesn't look at good as 4080 footage I seen with what's it called path tracing? But I'll take this....it also proves my crash issues aren't the system it's the driver and ALL unreal games I play....
I also know now not with an AMD card don't buy any game when it comes out, learned that hard aay so I'm using Xbox game pass subscription, doesn't cost me to try....
I assert a lot of stuff so I wanted to correct the record when I was wrong, admittedly I totally expected it to crash and it didn't let me down lol...so it running as long as it has NOW....I'm thankful lol.....
Same problem.
Also even if set AFMF2 globally it doesn't work with Indiana Jones for some reason.
In Indiana I get 60-70 FPS in 2k so AFMF2 is very much needed
Yes if is but just like space marines if the driver doesn't see it your done, and i put the exe in the adrenaline games list and launched it from THERE still doesn't see the game lol it's ridiculous and also predictable...shaking my head......I posted 2 weeks ago trying to give em a heads up I knew this would happen.....
I also like the variable radeon sync my monitor supports it and locks on...NOPE.....lol
This is a billion dollar company they can do it they choose not to because we keep buying their stuff with poor service....
Come on B780 leaks be true it's gonna snag so much mid range market share they will reel from it if so.....the b580 already has the low end covered at $250....they will have to change!!!!
Just got to report it's still up and running when we got home has to be 4hrs now ( which also let's me know components are stable so my games rebooting pc is a driver related with Unreal engine problem), alt r and tabbed over best I can tell it's sitting on 100% utilization, 17.5gb of vram temps high but I'm running entire system default for variable reduction...
Everything is just as i left it and fps it game ( which has extensive reporting options btw ) shows 65 in the scene i chose but I've seen that be low 50s and feel slightly hitchy ......
Bet if we had a driver it would run real good I'm just glad it's stable and not rebooting my PC taking me out the escapism
Game is very stable for me. Played for about 8 hrs yesterday, but like others, it does not show up in Adrenalin even if I try to add it manually. So far it's been smooth playing on ultra settings, but I don't think I'm getting any of the Adrenalin driver advantages because it's not detected. It feels like I'm getting over 60fps on my 7900XT which is fine for a first person adventure game. Glad it's not a multiplayer shooter though.
update, guys if the game is crashing out on you dont give up....yesterday I did that torture test and it did fine ( stability wise there were other issues but at this point im so beat down by AMD if it doesnt crash to desktop or reboot the PC ill just take it ), then i fired up and played HD2 for a few hours.....came back to Indiana and it crashed almost immediately, then reboot the PC....then crashed again ( kind of like the initial fire up ) but just keep going back in...once it doesnt crash in say 15 mins it will go 6hrs.....dont let a crash stop you from trying to enjoy the game...keep loading it change nothing.....it will eventually run...this may be because we need to be able to tweak settings but cant since AMD refused ( cause it IS a choice same as Nvidia chose to have pre game release drivers for it ready ) to release drivers, knowing full well this is the first game that I know of which has RAY TRACING required!!!!!! its probably the ray tracing crashing it, and maybe why slower cards arent having as much problem, the game may have a database of when not to apply it....but using the games extensive performance monitoring ( since we cant run our overlay due to AMDs decision not to support this game ) I can see RT is ON it literally says it......at least for a 7900xtx it is....so that and which type its running could be variables....maybe once it crashes and the game prompts you to see if you want to run the game in safe mode, it then scales back RT or something but its like clock work a couple crashes quickly then stable at each session....im trying not to get angry but im also trying to find a deal on a hold over Nvidia card till the 50 series ( or intel b780 ) hits the streets.....
good luck guys just keep loading the game it will eventually run im sure we will get drivers in February to use the features of our flagship products....
