i have 2 different ram kits in my pc, 2x8 5600mts kingston fury and 2x8 lexar Thor 6000mts. after i installed the lexar kit i loaded a expo profile in bios. when i loaded into bios afterwards it said all 4 ram slots are running at 6000 mts.
is that a wrong readout or can DDR5 ram actually run at higher speeds than its rated for?
it seems to be causing some slight issues with the bios being in the top left corner of the screen but otherwise seems to be running fine.

If its stable at all times, then keep it like that. If you encounter any sort of crash, then you have the culprit.
Its pretty normal these days to OC everything, in fact, EXPO is already considered a form of OC.
I've lowered my CAS Latency from stock 36 down to 30, added a tiny little bit of performance, that's all.

after properly testing my ram does not seem to be stable at 6000 mts. windows crashes after an hour of load
Try a lower value, like 5200 or 5600, just because you have mixed kits. Maybe you can get away with it.
But 4 sticks is always more cumbersome on the IMC (integrated Memory Controller).

Its running stable at 5600 mts im pretty sure my slower ram couldnt handle running at 6000 for extended periods of time
