I've been using an AB350M gaming-3 board for several years with a Ryzen 1500x processor. I don't have much to spend on this, but I decided to upgrade ang buy an 5500 processor. The board, according to the website supports the 5000 series.
I downloaded & updated the following BIOS versions:
F31, then F40, then the latest F51g.
CPU-Z indicated all were successful upgrades and everything worked fine.
I tried slotting in the 5500 processor, but it didn't boot up. The fans were spinning, the RGB on the GPU lit up for a few seconds, but then it went out again and there was nothing happening. Not even getting a BIOS splash screen.
I then rolled back to F41 bios because I read somewhere you can't skip that, then reupdated to F51g and also updated the Chipset drivers, but got the same result. The board still runs the 1500x without issue. Can someone give me some pointers on what else to try?
