Using FirePro V7800 with an AMD A8-3850 and Linux

Hi,

I would like to use the V7800 as a pure OpenCL co-processor, no display attached. The display remains connected to motherboard, using the A8 integrated GPU. But I can not get it to work.

When the BIOS is set to use the A8-GPU as default, I can get to the disk password, but after that, the V7800 takes over, which means I must move the DVI cable from the MB to the V7800 before I can see the login page. In that scenario aticonfig --lsa lists the 2 devices but the clGetDeviceIDs(...,CL_DEVICE_TYPE_GPU,..) returns 0 device!

When the BIOS is set to use the PCI-E GPU as default, the DVI cable is connected to the V7800, I get the disk password and the login page. In that scenario aticonfig --lsa lists the V7800 device only, and the clGetDeviceIDs(...,CL_DEVICE_TYPE_GPU,..) returns 1 device, the V7800. The APU Radeon 6550D is not available.

Any suggestion to get this setup to work?
