We had Athlon and Phenom and those were great names but Ryzen is now a established success with 8 Years closing on 10.
What do you think comes next? Because a catchy name is needed.
ZEN was a cool name for the architecture, looks smooth and calm with a duality of aggressiveness. Ryzen sounds like risen, a furious comeback to the markets.
Zen name sure looks like someone actually put the effort in it, so in order not to waste it. Here is my idea.
Keep ZEN as the architecture and make the next CPU name be AiZen.
2 reasons:
"Ai" is thrown a lot these days. Marketing.
example:
"Aizen" also refers to a deity associated with love, passion and beauty, but I haven't dug much regarding this topic.
Sorry guy, its Saturday night, nothing to do here, just passing the time and game while the kid sleeps. LOOL
I would be fine with another series of Athlon CPUs. Ryzen continues to mean 'more bang for your buck' when compared to what Intel offers in my opinion.
I kind of liked the old AMD Athlon and Duron branding.
Since Jim Keller isn't around to design the next wave of x86 processors who knows? Maybe we can use the low-cost fab tools he is working on at Atomic Semi and design our own processors.
This is a really cool concept. I like the way you are thinking here. 👍
Ai this, Ai that.. then maybe Ai should choose. tho' I like Ryzen more than what Ai came up with
I really enjoy this post @johnnyenglish (everyone)!
From legal search to trademarking, not to mention how a new name needs to be catchy, intuitive and perhaps descriptive, well it ain't easy.
Kudos to all of you for offering your thoughts!
