I'd love to see a cross section of CPUs and their idle temps! Please include your rough ambient temperature. Feel free to post a picture of them or any questions you may have. Have an awesome AMD day!
Ambient temp 21 Degrees C
X570 Aorus Elite / Ryzen 9 5900X / AMD RX7900 XTX / 64GB Kingston Fury Black 3600MHZ CL16 / RM1000 X PSU
Nice and cool I see! What cooler are you using?
I use an EK360 AIO, i took the EK fans off it though and put 3 LianLi Uni SL120 fans in their place
X570 Aorus Elite / Ryzen 9 5900X / AMD RX7900 XTX / 64GB Kingston Fury Black 3600MHZ CL16 / RM1000 X PSU
14700k - Evga 280mm cooler, generally, 33C - 35C or about 10C - 12C over ambient
Ambient varies depending on season (20-23°C / 68-74°F) currently at 23°C/74°F.
CPU idling around 7°C over ambient, Swiftech loop.
7ºC Over ambient is just in the perfect place to be.
I guess it is.
I idle roughly 35c to 45c depending on my ambient temp which reaches 21c in the winter and 32c in the summer.
7800X3D with an Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 Pro ARGB.
That’s a solid build, and your idle temps look great—35°C to 45°C is well within a safe range, especially considering your ambient temperatures. The 7800X3D paired with the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro is clearly doing its job. Plus, that 7900 XTX and DDR5 combo makes for a powerhouse setup—awesome for gaming or productivity.
Summer is coming up here so next months will be having 30+ Celsius, but so far we are still safe around 24.
During Spring/Summer times my idle keeps in the 45'ish Cº (sub 40 in the Winter).
Nothing too much fancy over here as cooling is concerned, actually its a Ryujin 240 first generation with the OLED screen back from 2020? Not sure. I know this is not the best pick to cool the All Mighty 7950X beast but that is why I have in place a series of tweaks to keep the beast down while maintaining the stock performance.
Every bit of the system is tweaked to make the most of the incoming airflow, keeping the CPU cool & quiet. Including case with the best airflow possible. The Noctuas sure are expensive but they do wonders when compared to my old Corsair ones.
When I get home I'll post some pictures but heres at least one to follow up. Regular gaming session no Stress test or rendering was used or the MAX would be way higher.
My ambient temp is around 30c and my 7800X3D's idle temp is usually between 50- 55 °c using a Noctua NH-D15 Air cooler in a full-size Fractal Torrent case.
That checks out. My Scythe Fuma 3 couldn't keep mine under 45 throughout the winter, so I bought an Arctic Freezer 3 Pro and these are my temps.
You could lower that ambient temperature if you went back to the land of snow and ice.
22°c room temp but the window is open and outside are ~18°c
Whats your CPU and cooler?
ah sorry for the late response. it's an old (can i say old? is it old?) 1950x and the cooler is Enermax Liqtech, the one for tr4 that covers the whole IHS.
thing is, i saw that video about Enermax - G.Nexus posted a few years ago and i disassembled the cooler. it was FULL of gunk. the liquid inside looked like the antifreeze you usually use for cars, bright green.
so i cleaned it well with a soft brush and some kinda descaler solution, took a small tube and a big syringe
and filled it back (it's really easy with that tube) with a solution made from Mayhem H2O+Mayhem Inhibitor+Mayhem Biocide and it seems to be ok.
tho' i bought a few years ago a Nemesis GTR480 and one EK D5 pump and this
and i kept saying to myself "i should install them... i should install them.." but i didn't.. pffff...
Low 30s. When playing 4k ultra on DCS world, I'm hitting 71 on cpu and 72 on gpu full load,
gpu at 99% utilization.
Using be quiet dark slim pro cooler with 2 fans no AiO or water in mine only metal.

Also my house is very cold keep it 65 Degrees.
