Performance mode or DX11 (same thing) on Fortnite is unplayable with a 9070xt. AMD cards are known for stuttering badly when building shaders in DX11. DXNAVI and downclocking are 2 known causes for this issue.
- Disabling DXNAVI is only available with old cards (6000 series cards). This fixes shader building. NOT AVAILABLE ON 9070xt
- On newer (7000 series) cards, you can also set a minimum frequency for the GPU clock. This MOSTLY fixes the shader building stutter. NOT AVAILABLE ON 9070xt
Has anyone from AMD tested playing Fortnite on DX11 mode with these new cards? It's severly unplayable. Anyone would notice this. Not trying to throw shade, but I along with many members in the community have tried to vocalize how big of an issue this is with no response.
Does anyone else play dx11 on fortnite with these new cards and doesn't have unplayable stutter?
"Just let the game build shaders for a game or 2" is NOT an acceptable answer. Testing the same process and mode with any NVIDIA card proves it's an AMD issue. Somehow NVIDIA cards are able to build shaders with no noticable stutter.
