Hi everyone,
The AMD French support asked me to go on this forum and make a topic for my questions.
They are i think, simple, but i need to be sure.
English is not my native language, excuse me for my further faults.
I have some questions about the fonctionning of GPU (in my case 7870 HD) and AMD Catalyst Software.
When i use the activity monitor, it always shows 20% of use, even in game.
-Is that the minimum it can show, it can measure?
-Does the GPU adapt its use depending on the computer capabilities (Im running on an intel core 2 duo E7300 2.66Ghz, this implies a limitation from the CPU)
Are the following reasonings good?
-When the processor is computing, does the GPU downclock itself, when it is waiting for new instructions?
-In the situation where the instructions arrive sparingly, will the GPU run at 100% of activity for only one instruction ? or will it find a specific cruise speed for this instruction and upcoming ones?
Do you think that a GPU running on such system will wear out as fast as if it was running on a faster one?
Do you think that a GPU on this system would use the same amount of energy compared to one running on a faster system?
