XFX Rx 580 crashes games

I recently got an XFX RX 580 for christmas and when I tried it out, some games like just cause 3 and titanfall 1 & 2 display a glitch, then black screen, then game doesn't respond and crashes. What is the issue going on with it?

hi,

1. is it a used RX580?
2. did you had a Nvidia GPU before?
3. you PSU is trash - 380W 12V - your CPU uses 120W, your GPU 180W, HDD/SSD/DVD-ROM etc 5-15W each and then there is admissible electrical power dissipation of 50W = not much headroom

PC: R7 2700X @PBO + RX 580 4G (1500MHz/2000MHz CL16) + 32G DDR4-3200CL14 + 144hz 1ms FS P + 75hz 1ms FS
Laptop: R5 2500U @30W + RX 560X (1400MHz/1500MHz) + 16G DDR4-2400CL16 + 120Hz 3ms FS

1. No, It's a new gpu

2. I haven't used an Nvidia gpu before

3. The PSU I'm using is older and it's looking like 500w isn't enough. I'm probably gonna get a 650w soon and see what happens.

Was about to say the same, probably struggling to power it. Found this in the spec page for the GPU.. Screenshot_20201227-062119_Samsung Internet.jpg

Get a somewhat decent brand 700 - 800W power supply. That way you can use it if you decide to upgrade other parts later.

EVGA or Corsair maybe?, etc. It's worth spending a few extra $$s to get a bit of quality & reliable power..

I have a EVGA 750W G2 Gold. Extremely quiet & efficient & puts out minimal heat.

1. ok
2. good ;)
3. mh, lets say this: my BeQuiet "DarkPowerPro" 550W is one of the best 550W PSUs (and i never had any problems with all of my BeQuiet "DarkPowerPro" or "StraightPower" PSUs) - and i can run my OCed 2700X @135-150W + RX 580 @200-220W + 2 SSDs + 1 HDD + 1 BD-R + 4 Fans (2x RGB) - without any problems ;)

have in mind - you are pairing your 1400€ Hardware with a 60€ PSU - this is a mismatch: simple rule 1/10th of your whole PC budget should be for the PSU (so of 1400€ you should buy a 140€ PSU - and this would be the BeQuiet "DarkPowerPro" 550W)

`I just upgraded to a 650w unit and I'm still facing these issues.
