hello, a while ago my xfx r7800 ghost graphics card came up with a message saying
"Failed to create OpenGL context for format QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, options QFlags(), depthBufferSize24, redBufferSize -1, greenBufferSize -1, blueBufferSize -1, alphaBufferSize 8, stencilBufferSize 8, samples -1, swapBehavior 2, swapInterval 1, profile 0) .
This is most likely caused by not having the necessary graphics drivers installed.
Install a driver providing OpenGL 2.0 or higher, or, if this is not possible, make sure the ANGLE Open GL ES 2.0 emulation libraries (libEGL.dll, libGLESv2.dll and d3dcompiler_*.dll) are available in the application executable's directory or in a location listed in PATH."
previous posts talked about uninstalling raptr and so forth and I've done that already, ran DDU and installed crimson 16.10.1, except when that gets going it comes up with error 173 - installer cannot continue since AMD graphics hardware was not found.
Where can I go from here?
Thanks for responding and sorry for the confusion! My GPU is an AMD XFX
It's a card that came in the system as I bought it from a friend. The
system worked well for several months before the issue occurred. After I
started having problems another friend tried to help me look up the card,
and we couldn't find any information on it.
I hope that information helps!
No you dont help much, if your graphic card is the AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series, you can update it to version 17.8.1 try to install them and uninstall the previous driver with DDU in Windows safe mode, so you can reinstall the new drivers.
