When was the FirePro W600 released and how long will it be on the market/supported?

Rumour has it that this graphics card will be removed from sale in the foreseeable future. Are there any alternatives to the w600?

The W600 was released in 2012 and has long since been discontinued. The modern equivalent, a low end professional card with a sub 75w TDP, is the Radeon Pro WX 3100.
