W6150M seen as R9 M385

When I download Radeon Pro Software Enterprise HP Mobile for HP Zbook 17 G3 (FirePro W6150M) the GPU is identified as Radeon R9 M385. Is there a way to fix this?

I checked the 17.Q3 driver and it does not contain any consumer board driver (Radeon R9 M385).

AMD FirePro W6150M1002664680103C80D6

You might have tried the option AUTODECT DRIVER and the consumer driver got installed first and then you tried to install 17.Q3 on top of it. Or you did not do clean uninstall.

Try to do a clean uninstall using DDU

OS is Windows 10 1709. I downloaded the driver from support.amd.com by selecting notebook drivers hp zbook 17 g3 firepro w6150m. (The drivers at hp website is old)

I don't follow. Which drivers are you looking at? Drivers on AMD site are from 2015 and HP from 2017

No, drivers on AMD site are from 7/27/2017 (version 17.Q3 23.20.15025.1004)

https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/workstation/mobile/previous/detail?oem=HP&os=Windows%2010%20-...

From support.amd.com click find your driver, select notebook graphics, select mobility firepro series, select hp zbook 17 g3 (firepro W6150M), select Windows 10 64 bit and you get the above page. The driver works properly, it is just the FirePro W6150M is identified as Radeon R9 M385.

Can you provide me with the DEV ID of the GPU? You can get that from device manager.

I uninstalled drivers with DDU and reinstalled the AMD driver. It is now correctly identified as Firepro W6150M. It is dated older than the Radeon driver but that is always the case with firepro drivers and it is ok. I guess Firepro W6150M and Radeon R9 M385 are based on the same GPU. BTW this also happened with the zbook 14 G2. (likely other zbooks with firepro too) Somehow when installing AMD sourced firepro driver, windows loads radeon driver from windows update since it is dated newer and gpus are physically similar. Thanks.
