Hello!!!

I need some help 

I have some issues with my rx 580 8gb. Black screen after only few minutes into a game. I've try many things like updating my drivers, downgrading them too, Overclocking, downclocking, downvolting. I'm not sure what else i can do at this point. I'm pretty sure its not a gpu instability problem. And the only game i can play is csgo and gta 5 (ultra settings) without any problem (seems like it was just longer before the black screen, after an hour or 2 at 77-78 degree celsius). Sim 4, phasmo, the forest, star wars batllefront 2, etc. aren't working ( black screen after few minutes and the fans are going full speed for no reason).

My system is:

Cpu: R5 2600

Gpu: MSI Rx 580 8gb

16 gb of ram

Mobo: msi B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (bios up to date)

psu: 750W mastercooler

windows 10, 20H2

64 bit

The computer is still running in the background but the monitor is not detecting any source 

The temps are pretty good i think, always between 38 and 77 degrees celsius when gaming. I've tried to erase (DDU) all the amd drivers and reinstall them, but the same problem has occured  I've used 2 different version of the radeon software : 20.12.1 and 19.10.2

No hardware failure in the event viewer. There's nothing, no event about this strange problem in the eventlog

The issue still persists even at stock. I've tried Overclocking, downclocking, downvolting and the same result ocurred. (I'm not an expert at Overclocking, downclocking, downvolting haha) The gpu could be instable maybe?

i can't go lower than 1750 for some reason. I'll try at 1750 mhz right now

Yeah, I can't go lower than 1750 on memory clock either.

I have the same exact issue.
One way to fix it is to underclock your memory clock, I have it on 1200 and it works, but just recently I still have crashes, though not as often as it used to crash. I use RX 580 too, just 4GB.

did you flashed a Mining-Bios on your RX 580? or did you bought it used?
because this behaviour sounds like the VRAM is running with ultra-low timings which cause a crash and is only used for mining eth or other coins

If I trust the store from which I've bought the PC recently, all of the hardware is brand new. I even took my PC back to them and ended up changing the GPU, which according to him is also brand new. I hope it is. I even ran the benchmark in the store in front of them, I had no crashes. Only after an hour (+-30 mins more) of playing I had a crash, so they decided to change my GPU. The problem however, still persists. His theory was that, the new driver of RX580 was not stable and msi Afterburner was a requirement to use the GPU but he was proven to be wrong the same day, after I brought the PC back home.

Please help, I am desperate.

can you show me a picture of the back of your GPU?

Unfortunately no, the PC case is sealed. If I try to remove them, the warranty will be nullified and out of use. 
I haven't had a close look but it really looked new (I might be wrong).

Have you got anything in mind other than the GPU being used and not new?

btw, what do you mean buy "VRAM timings"? Do you mean how much of the VRAM is used while heavy loading the card (i.e gaming)? I have been monitoring that and it can hit up to 4GB (The maximum).

Oh sorry, just noticed. 

I underclocked CORE CLOCK, I left my memory clock as it was by default. Just a typo, I am too tired and sleepy rn.

I tried to underclock the vram from 2000 to 1750mhz but same issue again

Just to be sure, you go from 2000mhz to 1200? and you don't touch other settings?

No, I went from 1340 from 1200.
