Hi all.
I'm a little spooked. I've had a radeon VII for a little over three months now. Last week I upgraded to a 144hz ultrawide monitor. The problem is, trying to run games at 3480 x 1080 (The native resolution of this new monitor)
the graphics card has been giving off an ear shatteringly loud continuous beep until I drop the resolution or close the game.
Is this even possible? Does the card even have a speaker? I tried to figure out of it was the motherboard but I'm 90% certain the motherboard doesn't have a speaker. (Maybe one of you know better than I do. It's a ROG crosshair hero VII. I don't have anything plugged into the speaker header and I can't see a speaker on the board diagram)
As far as I'm aware the card isn't overheating.
Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here? I need to go wipe the blood from my ears...
Okay. I'm officially an idiot. The beeping was coming from the UPS under my desk. It didn't like having that much power pulled through it.
Now if I could just get these damn fans to spin up...
