Radeon VII: 1024x768 on restart

Hello,

I've had a AMD Radeon™ VII Gold Edition for about a week now.

The previous cards were two Geforce 1070s.

Installed drivers Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.6.1
When waking windows 10 from sleep (or booting from a shutdown), the display is set to 1024x768.

1024 is the largest display setting, but I have been able to reboot the system and get windows to display 2,560 x 1,440 in the display drop down.

I have been trying to diagnose the issue but have not had luck.

Tonight, I hope to dig into the motherboard BIOS (asus maximus hero viii).

Monitor: ASUS ROG PG279Q

I suspect that recent Asis logic boards on their panels may be a tad flakey.

Once you are in Windows I presume that the native resolution is presented.

I've been running the monitor since September 27, 2016 without error, with Nvidia cards.

On wake up from a sleep state 1024x768 is the (recommended) resolution in the display settings.
When I reboot, I am then presented with the ability to change the resolution to 2,560 x 1,440 in the windows display settings.

definitely suggests a windows or driver problem, i use 3840x2160 which is more demanding and I have not had many issues outside video cards that cannot handle the panel properly
