Radeon Pro VII slow?

I am a scientist running custom simulation software which is likely fp64 compute limited. This is based on the observation, that my Radeon Pro VII does about double the amount of steps per second of my RTX 3090 (which should have close to the same memory bandwidth).
However, on a regular Radeon VII (on a different computer) I get near identical performance.

Can anyone think of a plausible explanation?

Also, I would love to get relevant and comparable benchmark results to assure my Radeon Pro VII is not broken.

AMD Moderator of Professional GPU cards can help you next week: @fsadough

NOTE: you will need to post more information though. Like Windows and AMD Driver version installed, Make & Model of your CPU and Motherboard.

Plus which program(s), name and version,  are you running that the GPU card seems to be slow with?

Linux Kernel: 6.0.8
rocm: 5.4.0
CPU: 13900k
Motherboard: ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO
Note: GPU only has 8 PCIe lanes due to other GPU

Program is custom, therefore I asked which software to use to get comparable results (and results to compare to)

So you are using a Consumer GPU card (Nvidia) with a Professional GPU Card (AMD)?
