R9 390 not recognised by computer

Hi i recently upgraded my rig to include a new AMD FX - 8350 processor and an AMD radeon R9 390 8GB. Both were installed fine however when the device manager is opened the new processor is detected but the graphics card is not. The card is definitely installed properly as through my case i can see that the lights and fans are on so i therefore believe this to be a software issue. In device manager under display adapters the following is shown Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. For reference my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Re: R9 390 not recognised by computer

I have that exact motherboard, make sure that in the bios you have it set to use the GPU instead of onboard graphics, because on the GA78lmtUSB3 there is Radeon HD3000 onboard graphics.
