"No signal detected" on Monitor

I've recently built my first gaming PC and wanted to see if it would work before I install my graphics card (Sapphire RX 480 8GB). Luckily, it did! But when I plugged the PCI-E cable into my RX 480 and tried to boot my computer again, the monitor said "No signal detected". I unplugged the cable from my graphics card and turned the PC on, and it worked perfectly fine. I thought this was just me, but the same thing happened to my friend (his graphics card is an Asus R9 380). I have tried doing multiple things, such as re-seating my RAM and replacing the PCI-E cable, and it still doesn't work. I was wondering if this has happened to any other person and if there was a solution to it. Thanks!

Re: "No signal detected" on Monitor

Please provide more information about your system, for example what Motherboard are you using and did you update the bios to the latest version?

INFORMATION REQUIRED WHEN POSTING A QUESTION

Have you tried the GPU in a different PCI-E slot?

Re: "No signal detected" on Monitor

Thanks for the reply! I've updated my original post.

Since I have no Internet yet (should have it by Monday), I have not been able to download the graphics card driver and I'm not sure if my bios is the latest version or not. And also, no I have not tried putting it into a different PCI-E slot. I am not home right now, but once I am, I'll try it and get back to you.

Re: "No signal detected" on Monitor

Update: It seems thought that my GPU can only fit in only one of the PCI-E slots. Could the reason it's not working be that I don't have any drivers installed yet?

Re: "No signal detected" on Monitor

It could be a faulty GPU or a PCI-E slot if you have tried an R9 380 in the same slot, and had the same issue.
