Re: pc stuck at 800x600@64hz

What version of Windows do you have installed?

Also Make & Model of Motherboard and GPU Card if applicable.

Your Embedded GPU is not supported by AMD with driver updates. It only has graphic drivers for Windows 8.1/7 and Linux: https://www.amd.com/en/support/embedded/amd-embedded-radeon/amd-embedded-e-series/e6465

In BIOS when you enabled Secure Boot which is UEFI Mode only that means you disabled CSM and you then reinstalled Windows on a GPT /UEFI HDD/SSD instead of a MBR/CSM HDD/SSD.

Have you tried in Windows Settings - Display to try and change to the correct Resolution and Hz?

NOTE: You can always open a AMD Service Request ticket (Official AMD Support) so that an Embedded Specialist can advise you on what to do: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form

This might help get you back to the proper settings. I had an incident once with the Radeon VII moving from one monitor to a different monitor and the resolution and refresh rate were wrong. Go to Settings -> Display and look at the bottom for Advanced display settings. At the bottom there should be something that reads Display adapter properties for Display 1. The text may look different on your system. On the window that opens there should be a button for List All Modes. Select the proper setting from there. These steps helped me.

The AMD Radeon E6465 does not support UEFI not does the machine itself. It's too old.

This logic is seen in mobile machines and on a discrete card.

I've tried to change the setting under display but all the setting (that normally can be select) becomes black.
All the setting related to display was locked.

Re: pc stuck at 800x600@64hz

Version that i use is 1809 and later updated to 1903 ( just to verify the issue of the display is related to windows rather than driver itself)

The hardware that i'm using is for custom application.

Our company actually have a driver for this pc but the version is too old and not eligible for updates. It will works with win 8.1 driver but it will show yellow bang at the device manager (but the output is normal with no issue at all)

I do tried to adjust the setting related to display but all the setting was lock and unable to click.

My assumption is that if the driver is in UEFI mode w/o secure boot and VBS enable it will not cause any issue even though it only officially support until Win 8.1. If the secure boot and VBS enable it will try to require compatible driver thus causing the issue that i'm facing. It may be the way win 8.1 & win 10 react differently in secure boot & VBS environment.

Thanks for your kind help btw!

I'm quite confused actually. https://www.amd.com/en/press-releases/amd-graphics-lineup-2015sep29

According to the article it shows that is supported for Win 10. As far as i know Win 10 is using UEFI.

Open a Support ticket with AMD Support from the link I post in my previous reply and see what they believe is the reason for your video problem.

Could it be because you disabled CSM in BIOS the reason for your video problems?  It is possible you have a hardware not compatible with UEFI mode in BIOS. Just guessing since that was the only real change you made besides upgrading your Windows.

I believe that AMD recommends using Windows 7 drivers when using Windows 10 OS. Seems to be more compatible than Windows 8.1 drivers.

windows will work fine on a machine with CSM mode, it will be slower to boot but it will work fine

Yes i have sent the support ticket to them and they yet to reach me.

The CSM was not present in my BIOS as the BIOS is also custom. But i do found out that the Graphic is actually supporting Win 10.

I did go through the driver list and seems that Win 8.1 and Win 7 is running the same version and both of them can run on Win 10 with no issue. Is just that the graphic will still change to 800x600 after secure boot and VBS.
