Input with IGPU. No input with GPU.

When I am running my computer on just the integrated graphics it works fine, with poor graphics. However, when I install my new Radeon VII and reboot I have no input to my monitor at all. even the integrated graphics turn off and the monitor just shuts down after a few seconds since it is getting no signal whatsoever. This is the first PC I have built so the answer may be very simple or there may be a crossed wire somewhere so any help on what might be causing this would be greatly appreciated!

Is the monitor connected to the VII, bios set to auto or pcie/peg and in uefi mode ?

Some more INFORMATION REQUIRED WHEN POSTING A QUESTION might be helpful.
