HP 15-3040nr with Radeon HD 7690M running Windows 10, cannot upgrade from 15.301.1901-160226a-31806 to 16.60.2011-170210a-311199C-ATI(WHQL)

I have an HP 15-3040nr with Radeon HD 7690M / Intel HD Graphics 3000 running Windows 10,

I cannot upgrade from 15.301.1901-160226a-31806 to 16.60.2011-170210a-311199C-ATI(WHQL) which is the version that the update notice says is available.
When I use the Radeon Settings on the computer to attempt an update, it only shows that 15.7.1 is available, and after going through all the motions, the update does not actually get performed.
Similar issues I have found online suggest a manual install of the drivers.
On the AMD site, I cannot find my model graphics card listed.
Again the card is HD 7690M (non-XT), which is a rebadged 100Mhz clock boosted 6750M, which land it in the 6700M series.

In the site's driver selection, the listings available are either 6730M or 6770M.
Can anyone verify which driver I should manually install?

further digging leads me to believe that the update may not apply to my hardware. and if that is the case, how can i disable the update notifications? I turned them off in catalyst but they persist and frequently.
