hey guys, so i had a rtx 3080 and usually i can go into display settign and change my resolution to 2560x1440p. 

I have a ultra wide monitor which is 3440x1440P, but when i play warzone, i usually set it to 2560x1440p to get more FPS and i like playing at 1440P.

I installed my 6900xt, and i can't see that resolution or set it. I seen the section for custom resolution, but it's asking for lot of other info.. can someone help?

A graphics card does not generate a resolution on its own. A GPU merely outputs the resolutions reported by the monitor's EDID. Obviously, depending on the output type, there is a max. resolution at certain refresh rate.

I didn't quite follow what you were say: You had a RTX3080 and you were able to get 3440x1440P and with 6900XT you can't?

1. What is the make and model of your monitor?
2. Which GPU output did you use on RTX3080 and 6900XT?
3. What is the refresh rate used?
4. What is your OS?

I have a LG34GN850 monitor. it is a ultra wide and has a native resolution of 3440x1440p at 160hz

when I had the rtx 3080 installed, I would go right click desktop and display settings. From there I click the display resolution, and I would have the option to pick 2560x1440p. 

however, with the 6900xt, I don’t have the option to pick that resolution.

You don't need to change the desktop resolution in order to play the game at your desired resolution.

Keep the desktop resolution at default and go into whatever game you are playing options menu and set the resolution from there.

If it does not show up at first then put the game into windowed mode

yea, it doesn't show up in the game resolution. It's weird.. why would i want to play in window mode?? i want to play full screen to ensure max fps and performance. This is a big drawback.. there must be something wrong.

1. Which GPU output did you use on RTX3080 and 6900XT?
2. Run the command "winver" and tell me your exact Windows 10 version
3. Can you provide the EDID of your monitor?

why not using CRU?

I used the display ports to connect the monitor

How do i get the EDID?

Also, that reddit post suggests using CRU also to get close to the resolution you want but maybe not perfect.  CRU helps with custom resolutions.

okay so under amd radeon software, if you go to settings>>display>>on the right side, there is a custom resoluation submenu. I was able to add 2560X1440P

When i clicked add custom resolution, the default 3440X1440 came out, and i simply changed the resolution to 2560X1440P and Timing Display to 2560X1440P.. i don't know if im supposed to change any other settings.. can anyone confirm? 

I can confirm, i can go to display setting and change it to that resolution and the display does change to 2560X1440P. Even in games, i can now select 2560X1440P. 

Im just not sure about the other settings if i'm supposed to change anything. I wanna make sure it's right so i dont have any FPS issues due to the screen not refreshing properly.,
