Half Life Alyx crashing on G2 with RX6900XT

Hi,

I've recently upgraded my Powercolor Vega56 to a Reference RX6900XT and also upgraded my HMD from a Oculus CV1 to the Reverb G2. Almost every game runs fine on high/ultra settings, but when I try to play Alyx it will freeze instantly and even my normal display will show a torn up screen. I do see a Adrenaline message that there was an error with the driver, and also event manager shows the driver has crashed. I've tried a lot of possible solutions, but without any results. I've desperately reinstalled windows now, but the issue still occurs. Can anyone help and/or can AMD please take a look at the drivers?

I've also set SteamVR to 50%, WMR is set to highest quality aand 90Hz.

All the specs:

ASRock AB350 Pro4
Ryzen 3900X
16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz
Samsung 970 EVO NVME 500GB (Boot drive)
Samsung 860 EVO SATA 1TB (Game drive)

Hi Max.

If you are using one of the March (21.3.1 or 21.3.2) drivers, roll back to the last February driver (21.2.3), AMD seem to have broken VR in general with the March drivers, the last Feb driver works well with VR. I too am using a 6900xt (XFX branded reference model) and both March drivers cause huge headaches with VR, I hope AMD fix this soon.

I'm using a Valve Index but I've heard that Oculus headsets are also affected by the bad March drivers.
I hope by rolling back, it'll fix your issues with your G2. Good luck.

Regards: Jack

Just posting in-case others run into this problem, but changing the renderer from Vulkan to DX11 fixed this issue for me.
