cursor freezing after Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities for processors - how to fix

Hi, After the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities became known in early January, 2018, Windows created and released 2 patches.  After installing the patches, my cursor started freezing. I had to manually power down and re-boot.  Then the cursor worked.  The connectivity to the web also had to be re-established after the reboot.  Any idea how to fix this problem?

Thanks for any help!

Uninstall the botched Microsoft patch and install the fixed one. Also, AMD is not affected by Meltdown, only Intel is, so you do not need that patch.

Thanks, black  zion.  I don't know how to uninstall a patch.  Since the

freezing occurred after the first one, and was not fixed by the second

one, I presume I uninstall the first one.  I don't know which patch was

for AMD or which was for Intel. How do I uninstall a patch?

Thanks!
