Complete garbage performance in GTA 5 - ROG X570 R5 5600x RX 6800 16GB 3200 Dominator

Some weeks ago I though - maybe guys here are right, R5 3600 and RX 6800 are not the best combination. So I have decided to upgrade that garbage AMD products to better ones - I have swapped mobo to ROG x570, ram to Dominator platinum and most essentialy R5 5600x. What are the results after whole system optymization, windows reinstall, enabling SAM ? COMPLETE NOTHING. 

I was never so frustrated and dissapointed with hardware update. Oh yeah and after silicon lottery with 3600 was amazing, as it was undervolting to 1.1680 with max boost, now I had a lot od headaches (like no boots with A5 problems that I have maybe solved) with max stable undervolt of 1.220. yay

What resolution and game settings you are trying to run GTAV at?

I can take a quick look to see what I get on NV and Radeon GPUs.

no matter if it's 1080 or trix boosted 1440, also it's not a point. On my previous 2x worse gpu, 2060s i was achieving stable 100fps with the same settings all the time. this rig is over 2x more powerful yet 2x worse. Thankfully only with games like this garbage that lucly I have already finished years ago but I just wasted to go back to it some time ago. C2077 runs at stable 70-90fps on 1440p, so it's not valid point to check what resolution is played on 10 year old game, when even games such as warzone plays at 130-180 fps

OK, so I can set the in game resolution and display to 1080p. 
I will not worry about Sapphire Trixx for now. 

Next thing I need to know is the exact Graphics Setting options you set in GTAV.

standard with a little of undervolt, 89%. also timings are fast and ramped up fans to keep it under 70 in junction if possible. Also settings, all max other than additional. Nothing special, the same as on 2060s as mentioned

However I need the GTAV Game settings to compare performance.

In my case I have set the GTAV  Settings -> Advanced Graphics settings to Restore Defaults. 
I need to know what you have GTAV Settings -> Graphics setting set to. 

I have set them to Restore Defaults and applied the changes. Then turned VSync off and applied the changes. 

There is a built in benchmark - so... I will use that to report results. 

Loading the game now.

I have a question. 

Are you running Sapphire Trixx Boost? 

That 2304 x 1296 looks like a Sapphire Trixx Boost custom resolution (downscale 2K (2560x1440)  by 0.9, with the option to turn on Radeon Image Sharpening and convince you it is the same quality as real 2K but with a higher FPS).

I would also need to get information RE: RIS Sharpening level you have applied in Trixx Boost - If any.

Is that what you are running? 

If you are running Sapphire Trixx I will also need to know which version. 

Last time I tried to install and run Trixx Boost - I needed to have a Sapphire GPU on the system. 

Please let me know.

I downloaded and installed Sapphire Trixx version 8.2 from here: 
https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/software
It installed OK w/o me having to install one of my Sapphire GPU. 

I created the custom resolution you have by setting 2K and moving slider to 90%. 

I left RIS off in The Sapphire Trixx menu. 

Applying youir settings and running benchmark next.  

I will report those results for same PC Settings for blender (CPU at fixed 3.7GHz max) and for CPU running at higher gaming clock frequency.

Thats all I will have time to do for you until ~ another 8 hours.

Nvidia RTX2080 OC run at full 2K Resolution  (No Sapphire TRIXX resolution downscaling available with that Nvidia GPU) . 
CPU set to run at 3.7GHz maximum. 
All of your settings used. A few additional NvidiA settings were available for that game - I turned them off or used the AMD option instead.
Vsync off. 

The RTX 2080 OC is faster than the RX Vega 64, and it is running at higher resolution.

Since I did not have RX Vega 64 performance results at 2K I decided to run those and compare to result with Trixx downscaling again.

I also wanted to double check my GTAV settings since I noticed that the AMD GPU runs have GTAV Shadow_LongShadows: false parameter versus it set to true for the same settings  on the Nvidia GPU.

Thats all I can do. 

Your R5 5600X should be slightly faster than R7 2700X in GTAV at 1080p, maybe 4% faster depending on OC settings and motherboard and ram etc. 

Your RX 6800 should be about 35% faster than an RX Vega 64 Liquid.

It looks like you are getting a good uplift in Average FPS performance versus the R9 2700X + RX Vega 64 Liquid in the benchmark as follows:

Pass 4, +68.8%

Overall that looks like an impressive performance uplift to me. 
Does the benchmark poerformance not represent the performance you get in game? 

We have essentially compared 2 generations  of AMD CPU and 3 generations of AMD GPU hardware. 

I can look at the performance on an RX5700XT versus your GPU if you want. 
The RDNA RX5700XT I have is generally faster than the RX Vega 64 Liquid at lower 1080p resolution but is only slightly faster at 2K on most games I have tested. 

I could also test your setup versus Ryzen R5 3600 CPU and RX5700XT, but that machine is busy at the moment. 
It will be at least 1 week before I can test on it.

If you can keep the same settings but change your resolution to 2K and report the benchmark results we can get a like for like comparison to the Nvidia RTX2080 OC result I produced. 

The in game FPS performance I see is ~ similar (a little better than) to the benchmark result on the RX Vega 64 Liquid so far at least. If I turn on HBCC on the RX Vega 64 Liquid I can improve the FPS by ~ 1 FPS for each pass, but that is obviously nothing compared to your results.

My results with CPU = 4.2GHz. Created Custom Resolution in Nvidia Control Panel to 0.9*2K.
This is a direct comparison to your result, but running an Nvidia RTX2080 OC and Ryzen 2700X. 

You are still faster by about +25% on average versus my best result.

Here is a comparison of GTAV on Ryzen R7 2700X versus Ryzen R5 5600X.
GPU = RTX2060 Super. 

The CPU Performance is practically the same on that game. 
Ryzen R5 5600X is only about +4% Faster at 1080p. 

Majority of the performance improvement result at the 2K*0.9 downscale resolution you use, should be mostly due to your RX 6800 GPU.

Based on that it seems  your GPU is performing quite well, beating an RTX 2080 OC and RX Vega 64 Liquid by significant margins.
