Building a remote workstation using Pro WX - Windows Server Essentials

Hi,

This may seem on the outside to be a strange thing to be doing but I am trying to utilise an otherwise under utilised system.  I have a home server that is running Windows Server Essentials 2016 but I like to work from a laptop and I am trying to avoid spending big money on a separate GPU laptop and using the server hardware as a remote workstation that will be used for CAD designs.

I've had a look over the site and the WX Pro range looks like it will do the job however the notes suggest that it's only supported with Citrix or Microsoft RDS.  So am I wasting my time buying a decent graphics card for the server in its current configuration or will I still be able to utilise some of the GPU performance from the Pro WX.

The spec of the server is as follows:

Fujitsu PRIMERGY TX1310 M3

Xeon E3-1225 v6

16 Gb Ram

Samsung Pro SSD

Thoughts gratefully received

Thanks

Rob

For remote workstation feature you don't even need a server. You can run the WX-Series in any desktop workstation or even on a server.
