During game play, sometimes after less than 1 hour, my Vega 64 has been black screening. When this happens the machine locks up and the GPU fans spin to max. If I frame limit the game via Radeon settings, it does not happen.

For example in Vermintide 2. Normal FPS = 60-120. Black screens/crashes. Reduced FPS = 30-50. No black screens.

Is this a case of RMAing the device or is there a fix?

I should correct that - my computer has been black screening. Crash/hardlock, only way to recover is to hold the power button. At the same time, the GPU fans spin up to maximum.

Probably overheat or u have damaged gpu. Try guarantee repair.
