Graphics Cards

Hi,

Apoligies for what I'm sure is a super basic question, but I'm setting up a basic computer which consists of two garphics cards and am just looking to 'connect' them together so that I get the benefit of their combined VRAM so that I can mine Ethereum

The two graphics cards I have are:

- Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 Fury
- ASUS Radeon R9 290 DirectCU II

I've tried following the instructions here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/dh2-018

But when I load the software, I don't have the option to enable Crossfire.

I'm just hoping someone can please kindly confirm whether these two graphic cards are compatible?

Then, if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

They most likely aren't compatible because the Sapphire uses HBM memory and the Asus uses DDR5, two very different architectures. Best to use 2 of the same brand/model or definitely the same memory technology.

Crossfire is for games.  It has nothing to do with scam currencies. 

Those cards would not be compatible for Crossfire in any case.

DX11 Crossfire no. 

You could Crossfire the R9 Fury with another Fiji based GPU such as R9 Nano or R9 FuryX. 

You could Crossfire ASUS Radeon R9 290 DirectCU II with another Hawaii based GPU. 

DX12 MultiGPU ... possibly. Might work on Ashes of the Singularity benchmark. 

Not sure why you need to use DX11 Crossfire for Mining though. 

You should just be able to connect multiple GPUs, turn Crossfire off, and the mining software should run on each GPU.
