AMD 6900XT driver timeouts across all games.

I've tried a ton of different games to this point. After about 30 minutes of play in each, the game will freeze and give me a notification from AMD that a driver timeout occurred. Already tried the AMD Clean up tool and reinstalled all drivers. UE4 gives me this log information from the crash reporter.

Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 198] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')

Hi,

Try updating Direct x if there is an update.. Also make sure Visual C is up to date..

Verify steam files: From the 'Library' section, right-click on the game and select 'Properties' from the menu. - Select the 'Local Files' tab and click the 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' button. - Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.

I wouldn't think so, but the minimum PSU is 850w for the RX 6900 XT.. Maybe you get a spike and it hits the limit?

Look at this link too: [Solved] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost - Driver Easy

AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, Asus Tuf Gaming RX 6700 XT, Asus TUF Gaming x570 Plus, 32gb G.Skill TZ neo 3600mhz, Samsung 980pro 1tb NVME, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1tb NVME, Lian Li Galahad AIO 240mm, Antec Titanium 1kw.

I was having driver timeout issues with my wife's 3700x,B550m Phantom Gaming 4 and RX 550 2GB GPU using a Thermaltake RGB 500w 80 White PSU.. I upgraded her to a Segotep (Big in China I guess) 600w 80+ Gold and the issue went away ..

Though you have a nice PSU (I run one in my daughters rig) .. as stated, maybe it's just not handling those peak demands that your 6900xt is requiring

Make sure you are running separate power cables to each power input on your GPU

Make sure your BIOS on your motherboard is up to date

Make sure you have the latest AM4 Chipset drivers installed

DRIVER TIME OUT IS VERY POPULAR AMONG AMD DRIVERS!!!! MAKE SURE TO INCREASE VIDEO TDR DELAY FROM 2(DEFAULT) TO 8 BY REGEDIT, IN AMD TUNING CHOOSE DEFAULT.
