3rd monitor disabled Radeon 7870

I've seen some stuff about potentially my adapter issues causing my 3rd monitor not to display connected to my Radeon 7870.

looking for some help on diagnosis. My Setup

monitor 1 VGA - dvi to vga adapter - DVI port on 7870

monitor 2 DVI - hdmi to dvi adapter - HDMI port on 7870

monitor 3 HDMI - DP to HDMI adapter - DP port on 7870

I know my setup is ridiculously adapted but I did the best with what I had. My monitor 1 shows as disabled in windows 10 when monitor 3 gets plugged in and reverts when monitor 3 is unplugged. Do I need an active DP adapter or something? (I don't know if any of my adapters are active or not)

Hey Kalgran,

and yes you'll need an active DP to x adapter because the card only has 2 clock generators and DVI, VGA and HDMI need individual clocks, an active DP adapter however will provide its own clock.

You can recognize the active adapters because they will have a USB connection too and they'll cost way more than regular adapters.
