Hi,
I'm using linux, the 2.6 SDK, the newest version of the profiler (V2.4.1317) and catalyst 12.4.
When trying to calculate kernel occupancies I always get
"Error in occupancy calculation".
The performance counters seem to work (they produce some numbers )
What could be the matter?
Thanks for help,
Ralph

Hi makimoto
APP Profiler 2.5 has been released.
We are not aware of any FetchSize error. Note that this counter counts the traffic from L2 cache to DRAM. So it's affected by L1 cache hit and memory access pattern.
Hi Ralph
What graphics card do you use? APP Profiler 2.4 doesn't support HD7000 series (GCN architecture)
A new version of APP Profiler which has full HD7000 support is coming very soon.
Hey,
oh yeah, forgot to say which card I'm using
Indeed I have a HD 7970. Does that also mean that all the other numbers from the profiler are (or may be) incorrect?
And what does "very soon" mean?
Thanks for the help.
Ralph
Edit:
Forgot to say that Windows is no option.
Most of the performance counters are correct except LDSFetchInsts and LDSWriteInsts. We'll have a fix in the up coming version.
Ah, ok. Thanks.
Hi Mr.Bin
I use SDK2.6/APP profiler2.4 on Radeon HD 7970 on windows7 too.
if "LDSFetchInsts" and "LDSWriteInsts" are wrong, is "FetchSize" wrong too?
(I have understood that "FetchSize" and "WriteSize" were caliculated by other Perfomance Counters.)
When will APP profiler next version(for 7000series) be released?
